The company has expanded its lineup and added two new action cameras, theHero11 Black Creator Edition and Hero11 Black Mini.
GoPro recently unveiled its annual fall update for its most popular action camera. The company has expanded the number of models in its lineup and introduced two new accessories for the GoPro action camera range with the Hero11 Black Creator Edition and Hero11 Black Mini. In 2022, GoPro will offer three cameras: the basic Hero11 Black, a small version and a model designed for makers.
Like the previous Hero10 Black, the new GoPro Hero11 Black has a 1.4-inch display on the front and a 2.27-inch touchscreen display on the back. It also has a newer 1/1.9-inch enhanced sensor with improved photo and video quality that can capture 27-megapixel photos and 24.7-megapixel videos. The camera’s sensor has been updated to capture 10-bit color video and 8:7 aspect video, in addition to the existing 5.3K video recording at 60 fps (or 4K at 120 fps). The Hero 11 Black also includes an improved version of GoPro’s HyperSmooth 5.0 technology, as well as three new Night Effect Time Lapse settings, and a large enduro battery. We expect the Hero 11 Black to have the same sturdy construction as its predecessor.
GoPro is releasing a more affordable “mini” version of the Hero 11 Black. The Hero 11 Back Mini lacks front or rear displays, but still offers customers all the features and functions of its larger counterpart. With just one button for Bluetooth connectivity, this mini camera gives users a fresh take on GoPro’s line of Session cameras – the last of which was released in 2016. That model also had no screens and sported a more compact design than this model.
The GoPro Hero11 Black Creator Edition is the most expensive of the three camera models. It is a step up from the Hero11 Black and includes features such as a durable battery grip with built-in buttons for one-handed operation, an optional directional microphone, an external microphone input, an HDMI port, a high-brightness LED light and two cold shoe mounts to attach additional accessories. All three new camaras each contain the same GP2 chip that powered the previous three cameras. They also have a new feature that automatically sends highlights from videos to your smartphone.
When users sign up for GoPro’s subscription service, the cost of the action cameras drops by $100. With the GoPro subscription, you get benefits such as unlimited cloud backups, automatic uploads, use of the GoPro companion app (Quik) and replacements for up to two cameras per year. You are free to cancel at any time. The GoPro subscription currently has more than paying subscribers worldwide.
The GoPro Hero11 Black costs €549.00, the Hero11 Black Mini costs €349.00 and the Hero11 Black Creator Edition costs slightly more, at €779.00. If you want to purchase the Hero11 Black and Creator Edition, mark your calendar ahead of time, as these models will not go on sale until Oct. 25.
